Have you played around with Illustrator at all? Photoshop is great for raster images and basic graphics, but Illustrator provides far better/easier results when drawing up something like that background. I did a lot of drawing of "vector" images in Photoshop for a long time simply because I was far more familiar with it, but Illustrator was a revelation.

Yeah I need to learn Illustrator. Like you said, my familiarity lies with photoshop but the pen tool is a bit of a pain in the ass and people have told me before that Illustrator is the way to go.

That's pretty much my experience as well. I was just so comfortable with photoshop that I was unwilling to change; there's a slight learning curve (or un-learning of photoshop curve), but it's similar in many respects and I think the quality of what I was doing quickly suprassed what I could accomplish in photoshop. It's been a while since I've used either program, now, but I've been thinking recently about snagging a copy of Illustrator to start dabbling again.
Dig the BG, btw.

In Photoshop, you're pushing pixels. In Illustrator, it's all lines, curves and fancy maths, which means you can blow it up building-size and everything will stay crisp. For the style above, Illustrator is definitely what you want. Much more versatile end product. Vector graphics to pixels, easy. Pixels to vector, not so much...

Thanks for the advice! Maybe I'll redo it in Illustrator and see how it goes!
